I met a lot of people out tonight who come into London from the suburbs so they can go out Saturday night. A cab from London to the suburbs costs a few hundred dollars. My God. You’d have to take a second job just to be able to GET to the bar at night, let alone buy a drink.

Geez, even with gas prices as high as they are in the US they aren’t as high as that cab fare.
cant they take the tube or something??
just wanted you to know that i’m still here reading your posts and supporting you! sounds like you’re having a blast!
That’s why we have the oldest and most extensive underground train network… and night buses! Public transport is actually useable over here, unlike the US :)
That said I did enjoy those pretty cable cars you guys have in San Fran.
