Seriously, does anyone know how to tell the difference between men’s and women’s shoes? I wanted to find a new pair of sneakers before I left Australia, so I swung by a super discount shoe store today. Every time I picked up a shoe to look at it, the sales lady walked by and told me “that womans shoe”. And she didn’t speak enough english to give me any more guidance than “they too small for you.”

I can’t help it if all the men’s shoes are boring!

Edit: Just watched the video. Kind of. Oh God, it’s just too painful. I had to turn away.

I had the opportunity to meet up with my first real girlfriend on Friday. She’s dating someone now, but it was really nice to catch up with someone who played so large a role in my life. We got together six years ago when I was studying abroad at Sydney Uni. She’s still cute.

It did feel a little weird at the beginning, seeing someone I was once so close to, now separated by the passage of time. We talked a lot about what we’ve been doing for the past six years. We got along pretty well, which is a strange thing to say about someone I used to date, but I honestly didn’t know what to expect. I don’t think she did either.

I think if I lived in Sydney we could still be great friends, but we’d have to get to know each other all over again. She almost fell out of her chair laughing when I told her I was a dating coach now. I was totally clueless when we were together. Life does throw some curveballs.

Got a few more photos from Melbourne. Did I mention the ice bar was really really cold? Oh, and there I am looking studly on the observation deck of the Rialto tower in Melbourne.

Not much to say about Brisbane (”Brizzy,” if you speak the native language). I spent most of it cooped up inside the hotel room preparing to give an intro seminar. Daniel and I did manage to find a few minutes to explore the river walk.

The trip didn’t feel real until we arrived in Sydney, a moment gloriously captured by Daniel as we got off the plane.

We checked into the Hilton and headed out to explore, starting off with the obligatory tourist attractions - the harbor bridge (did I mention that I’ve peed off that?) and the opera house. I’m back home! Ah, Sydney, how I missed you.
